CloseDespite being a pared-back trim in the new 2022 Ram 3500 lineup, the Tradesman model still looks handsome and rugged, possibly more so thanks to its lack of bling. The Tradesman makes do with steel wheels, simple black bumpers, a black grille, and black pits around the exterior like the door handles. If you want to dress up the outside, Ram does offer a chrome package for chromed bumpers and grille. When you climb into the interior, you’ll find the seats are covered in durable vinyl or tough cloth. If you read a 2022 Ram 3500 Tradesman review, you’ll know the Tradesman comes equipped with a Uconnect® 3 infotainment system with a 5-inch touchscreen display. Ram also offers the powerful Uconnect® 5 infotainment system with either an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen if you want to upgrade.
One of the main reasons to purchase a 3500 is for its engine and capability, and if you’ve read any Ram reviews, you know the Ram 3500 Tradesman is offered with three engine options. The first is a 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 that develops 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and can tow up to 18,210 pounds. You can also choose the 6.7-liter Cummins® turbo diesel I6 making 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque with a max tow rating of 22,670 pounds. If you need even more capability, the high-output Cummins® produces 420 horsepower, 1,075 lb-ft of torque, and can tow up to 37,090 pounds.
